Drinking Water Systems

A reverse osmosis system treats the water at one tap, your kitchen sink, to a far finer level than a whole-house filter is designed to reach.

The Elevated Drinking System reverse osmosis unit

It is the right tool when the concern is what you drink and cook with rather than what you shower in. Whole-house filtration and a drinking water system do different jobs, and plenty of homes end up with both.

As with everything else, we test first. The readings decide whether reverse osmosis is worth it for your water or whether a simpler filter already covers what you are worried about.

What this system addresses

Dissolved solids

Total dissolved solids is everything left behind if the water evaporated. The EPA secondary standard is 500 parts per million, set mostly on taste grounds.

Taste at the tap

A reverse osmosis membrane removes dissolved contaminants down to 0.0001 micron, which is what makes the difference you notice in coffee, tea and ice.

Minerals back in

Stripping water that thoroughly also removes the minerals you want. A remineralization stage puts calcium and magnesium back and balances the pH.

Lead and heavy metals

Lead usually enters from the plumbing inside your own house rather than from the utility. If that is your concern, tell us when you book and we arrange a certified lab test.

Bottled water

Households buying bottled water for drinking and cooking are usually solving a taste problem that a system at the sink solves once.

Ice and coffee

Ice machines and coffee makers both show water quality plainly. Cloudy ice and flat coffee are common reasons people look at a drinking water system.

Signs to watch for

  • You buy bottled water for drinking and cooking
  • Coffee and tea taste flat or chemical
  • Ice comes out cloudy or tastes of the freezer
  • A film or residue is left in the kettle or on a glass
  • You want lead or PFAS testing because of the age of your plumbing

How it works with us

1

Book a free in-home water test. A local technician tests at your tap and gives you a written report.

2

We go through the results together and explain what each reading means in plain language.

3

If the readings call for treatment, we recommend the Aquonyx system matched to your water, with a written quote.
